The Young Inventors Journal (YIJ) was the first ever National Level scientific paper writing competition held by the Association of Science, Technology and Innovation (ASTI) in cooperation with the Ministry of Water, Land and Natural Resources. The theme of this year’s journal paper was ‘How to Conserve and Save Water?’. There were 83 applications through the submission of abstracts. From those 83 applications, 44 complete journal papers (5 papers from the Individual Category and 39 papers from the Group Category) were submitted for evaluation by 27 judges. Through the evaluation process, the three best journal papers for each category were selected.
A ceremony was held at White Box, Publika Solaris Dutamas on the 17th of August, 2019 to determine the second runner-ups, first runner-ups and champions from the three selected journal papers in each category. The journal paper from SM All Saints (the one and only team representing the state of Sabah), presented by Danial Lau and Jeriel Yong, supervised by Madam Susan Chin, with the title ‘Applications of Permeable Pavement’ was announced as the Champion of the Group Category. They were awarded winning certificates and a cash prize of RM3000.
