SM All Saints’ Students Dominate International STEM Innovation Competition
KOTA KINABALU: Students from SM All Saints achieved outstanding international recognition after delivering a remarkable performance at the World Youth STEM Invention Innovation 2026 (WYSII 2026), organised by the Malaysia Young Scientists Organisation (MYSO). Held from 29 January to 2 February 2026 at the Al Meroz Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, WYSII 2026 gathered young innovators from across the globe to showcase inventions and research solutions addressing real-world challenges through science, technology, engineering and mathematics (
STEM). SM All Saints emerged as one of the most dominant participants in the international competition, recording 13 Gold medals, 3 of which were also awarded Special Awards (Munch – 1st place), (Tag Tracker – 4th place) and (De-Teck – 5th place), and 1 Silver medal through innovative student projects. The achievement not only highlighted the creativity and research capabilities of the students but also positioned the school as a strong leader in youth STEM innovation at the global level.
Notably, SM All Saints recorded the highest number of student participants among all schools for WYSII 2026, with a total of 49 students representing Malaysia. Their strong presence demonstrated the school’s commitment to providing international exposure and nurturing future innovators capable of contributing to global scientific advancement. The students ranged from Form Two to Form Five. The Form Two students are Zhea Anastascha Binti Mohd Izmal Fadzly, Ian Mirid Anak Augustus, Jeremy Gad Anak Wellington Jesus, Declan Ted Soikun. Form Three students are Jasmine Jack, Aviela Rosa Terrance William, Dannabelle Ryanne Robert, Athalia Athanasius, Jayhsia Resse Jaikol Udar, Mark Dylan Disimon, Aaron Anthony Rining Thien and Ryden Azriel Kario. The Form Four are Nor Arieessa Zara Irdina Binti Muammar Julkarnain, Emmy Farwiza Fataniah Binti Mohd Fadzlun, Nur Rahwani Binti Sait, Estelle Danielle Bernard, Mohammad Darrel Iman bin Mohammad Fidzuan, Ivanshine Reuben Josapat, Zachary Ezechiel Montung, Mehar Sue Alya Binti A Mohd Sharul, Muhammad Aryan Danish bin Mohd Hussin, Ayisy Darwisy Danial bin Mohd Hafiz, Jamielyn Grace Not and Adam Ryan Johnny. The Form Five are Isca Watie Vanessa Isve Ismail, Chong Cheyenne, Leon Lokis Peter, Nathylee Faye Jaikol Udar, Chloe Lee Yi Ling, Arisha Joanne Fairon, Nur Sabrina Binti Mohd Nor, Adelynna Phoebe Rowland, Angel Quinn Victor, Amanda Evangeline Edward, Muhammad Arashee bin Azmi, Nikita Kirsten Bernard, Ryan Ng Jun Lei, Anabell Adriance Lawrence Gontuni, Christabelle Anne Leikson, Nolan Ryan Doniol, Ronan Tay Jin Fung, Larry Dylan Alex, Muhammad Asyraf bin Norman, Prince Javier Sanggau, Alisha Auni Poo Binti Muhammad Izzuddin Poo, Aliesa Arianna Binti Mohammad Ashpawi, Nur Syazlyanna Binti Salimi, Cheryl Chong Kha Man and Jane Constance Andy. The supervisors for these 14 teams are Mr. Marcus Khoo (4 teams), Mdm. Siti Azizah (6 teams), Mdm. Rishnahayu Nur (2 teams), Mdm. Ivy Jocelyn (1 team), Mr. Disimon Edmund (4 teams), Mr. Anizan (1 team) and Mr. Adrian Bakil Nio (2 teams).
WYSII serves as a prestigious international platform designed to uncover and develop new talents in invention and innovation. Participants are required to design, prototype, and present innovative solutions that create meaningful impact for communities and sustainable development. The strong performance of SM All Saints students reflected their ability to apply scientific knowledge, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills in addressing real-world issues.
The success was achieved through the collective efforts of the school’s STEM Warriors, a team known for promoting research culture, innovation mindset, and collaborative learning among students. The achievements were further strengthened by strong mentorship by the Principal, Dr. Mary Gambidau, as well as the support from the school leadership and teachers. The delegation was led by Senior Assistant of Co-Curriculum, Mr. Marcus Khoo, with Mr. Anizan serving as Team Manager and Mdm. Siti Azizah as Chief Supervisor, ensuring structured preparation and guidance throughout the competition.
The SM All Saints delegation also received strong encouragement from parents, with 32 parents joining the programme, demonstrating strong collaboration between educators, learners, and families in nurturing innovative talent.
The extraordinary accomplishments at WYSII 2026 reaffirm SM All Saints’ dedication to cultivating globally competitive students equipped with research skills, innovation thinking, and leadership qualities. The success also strengthens Malaysia’s presence in international STEM innovation platforms and inspires more young learners to pursue scientific exploration and creative problem-solving.
